Dental Implants

Preventing Bone Loss

Sometimes a tooth may have to be extracted, as decay or damage is too extensive to save it. A dental implant is the perfect solution, but if there isn't sufficiently strong bone to support it, an implant will not work. Almost immediately after extraction, the bone mass will start to recede. This presents a problem for an implant; however, we can fill the area with a bone graft for preservation of the bone. Even if you decide not to get a dental implant, grafting will significantly help to reduce bone loss. This is an important measure in support of your dental arch structure and overall support of your teeth.
